Well, I told him

He reacted better than I thought.  Still mad but he is thinking it though.

I wish I could get him to realize that this is a great thing but I can not.  He is so into the trading hours for dollars.  He is so boxed in that he does not get it at all.

I had hopes that he would want to become my partner but that is out unless he takes the time to really think about it.

I can make more money doing landlording than paralegal.  Hands down.  It's taken me more than 8 months to find a job in the paralegal field and that is only a 2 to 3 week job.  I've filled out more job applications that I can count.  Sent out more resumes' than I thought I would have too.  Paralegal is just a hard area to break into.

First house "It's a duplex"

I know, I've not blogged since Sept 2011. Gees, didn't realize it had been that long.

So updates.

Found a way to get money via credit cards for the company.

Got $12,000.

Found a real estate agent who was trying to help a family sell their mother's house. House needed work, as in new roof but pretty much a solid house. Did not go for that one.

Turns out, he had a couple of landlords who wanted to get rid of a duplex in the same area. So I put down $500 but the bank bulked so I put up the full $10,000. Now three months later, I have a duplex.

I picked the keys up on Wedensday, March 28. On Thursday, I showed it to my first possible renter. A couple of friends who are going to share the upper floor of the duplex. They want to move in on Apr 20th, so I'll prorate the rent and get their first month rent and the damage deposit for a total of $900.

While there I was writing out what needs to be done in the place to get it ready for move in. And while going down stairs to the basement, I thought I heard the furence running. My surprise since I was told there were no utitlites on in the house. Sure enough, the second floor has power to it. I went up stair and double checked and sure enough, there is light up there.

Shortly after I got back from showing it, got another call from someone who wants to rent the lower half of the duplex.

Once this duplex is fully rented, my take after water, ins. and taxes is around $700.

Way cool.
