still need business cards

I've set up my website and just need to order business cards.

I posted my first online ad. I had one call and two emails within just a few hours. Only one was from someone really looking for a place to live. The two emails were from other investors.

overwhelmed and than some

I will not lie about feeling overwhelmed and also like I'm not moving fast enough. However the pace I've set is working for me right now.

I had purchased the books before joining the classroom stuff. So I'm going back and forth. There is so much more in the classroom stuff and it's in a better order for me anyways. I really like the action stuff. I mark it off as I go along.

So many things to do

Ok, with the phone issue resolved I've been working on other things
Logo for my new company, after spending a couple of hours looking at others I finally came up with one.

Got my checking account done (want to keep my monies seperated) I am keeping a total of start up cost so that I can repay myself.

Next working on a website.

The online classes state I should be socially linked but that just feels so impersonal to me. I really want to talk to my clients as they call in.

I've gotten the website name, just need to put in on a web host. I've used Freeservers for years for a genealogy website that I have so I plan on sticking with them now too. I've never had any issues with them.

I still need to order business cards and will do that tomorrow or later today.

up and running with a phone

I returned the Virgin Mobile phone to Target. I felt it was bad luck to purchase new phone there so I left and went and purchased a new Tracfone at Kmart.
I plugged it in and let it charge for a while.

And for anyone who might have been reading this far. IT WORKED, I now have a business phone.

If asked about Virgin for our area, I would tell them don't get it.

My new Tracfone, had three out of 5 bars. Works great, no static at all.

Now to get my business up and going.

New phone

I am currently waiting for the phone to finish charging. I am so hoping that it will be as good at the other cell phone I have.

I did a year activation which gives me 1000 minutes with a bonus that came with the phone.

Talked to my advisor today

My advisor Greg called today.

I told him about an apartment complex I found in Cleveland. There are some very good points to this building and some not so good ones.

The area is ok, but with the EC in the area, I could fill up the apartment complex quickly I'm sure. There is also a college not far up the road too.

My plan on this one is to do some more investigating and go look at it tomorrow and see what needs to be done with it. Than go from there.

Ditching Virgin Mobile

Ok, what a pain in the backside on this one.

I've tried three different phones and all had the same issue, no service or bad staticy service.

I've decided to go with Verizon wireless and will be going there tomorrow to get a phone that will work for me.

I will be taking the other one back to Target yet again and moving on to Verizon.

still more cell phone issues

Took back the second phone and got a less expesive phone, hoping that I'll be in business later today.

What I did on Monday

Ok besides getting angry at the cell phone which was later in the day.

I set up my EIN number for my business. It was so easy. I already had the LLC so in about 5 minutes, the IRS gave me my business's tax number. Way cool.

After that, I went and set up a box at Mail Boxes Etc for business mail. The cost for 12 months was $202. I was expecting less but glad I took in extra money for just that reason. No I didn't call them I did like everyone else, I looked it up on line.
However, there is a good thing too. I also get 3 months free since they had a promo that if you purchased 12 months you get an extra 3 months. So I got 15 months.

So that was just under $17 a month for just the 12 months and about $13.50 a month for 15 months. Not too bad and once I get my website set up, they'll email me when I get a box or other large items.

After there, I went to the bank to set up a checking account for the business too. The gal had to call the IRS to get a form I didn't know anything about but all was great. However, there was a 15 minute wait for the IRS which for a Monday was not bad at all. We set up the account while waiting for someone from there to pick up.

So all that took up my morning.

I got home and started to work on some of my assignments from the workbook. I'm so glad they have things set up for it. I found out somethings I didn't know. Again way cool.

Cell phone issues

On Friday, I purchased a brand new cell phone to the tune of $300. This is the phone I plan on using for my business. I hope to have email and everything else set up to use over the next few weeks.

Now, I did not have time to really play with it until Monday. So I tried to make a few calls and the static was so bad and the reception was so bad that the phone calls were dropped.

Now, we live in a good area for the phone that I purchased. I looked it up on the web to see if I had been steered wrong. The coverage for our area is really good. I do have some limits here in our area but they are not areas that I would normally be looking for properties at so that should be fine. Not only that but I do have a back up phone for those other areas.

So after a short period, I was so mad that I was prepared to go argue with Target about the Virgin Mobile phone I had purchased there. I called Target and the gal told me to bring it back in. I should state that I called them with the phone that I had purchased there to show what it was like.

I called VM ready to cancel the service since it was so bad. The gal I talked to told me to take it back to Target and to replace the phone since there might be something wrong with it.

So later this morning, I will be going back to Target to exchange the phone and get another one.

You know, maybe I should have realized when I had a hard time activating it on Friday that there was something wrong with the phone.

Not told anyone

I should also say that outside of the two Target employees and my support group, no one else in my life knows about this at all.
I really don't need the neg comments about not being able to do it. I've told them in the past when I tried to start an investment/ property company. That is why I already had an LLC set up. I just didn't know how to complete what I needed to do.

I know I'll succeed at this and prove them wrong.

creeping doubts

Of course there are doubts, can I do it, will I make enough money to make it work. Will I fail? and on and on.

So I keep reminding myself that, I can do it and will make enough money doing it.

So the second "chapter" has a list to work on.

SO I began, new phone just for the business as I don't want to use my own phone. I decided on a no contract phone that I can keep up and running. Thank goodness for the guy at Target, I told him what I needed it for and he helped me out. Was going to get a trak phone but decided on a different compnay altogether.

There are several more things to do on the list, some I had done before such as setting up an LLC the others will be over the next week.

Starting the lessons

I started the morning by going over the lesson plans that I was given.

I printed off the first pages and began to work on them. I could answer most of the questions not all of them. I need to look up the ones I didn't know and learn them.

Day 3

First lesson/ workbook.

This morning before the children got up, I started with the first lesson and printed off the work book.

The lesson went over what was said in the video. It reinforced the lesson from yesterday.

Today I plan on working on the workbook that I printed off.

This last night I took some time to look for properties. Nothing more than looking.
This morning I sent out some quick emails from some of the looking I did last night. Really to see if the properties were still available and where they are.
I'm still a little reserved since I also very afraid but also excited in the same time.
Such a new adventure awaits for me.

I keep thinking, goal 1 pay off my debt, that is such a big motivator for me.
I also keep reminding myself, take it one step at a time and don't rush, learn and re learn what there is to learn.

I will make myself a seccess.

Day 1

My team.

I got a call from my new team. These are the people who are going to help me succeed. Hold my hand as need be.

So I got my first email with a link to their website.

I signed in and did the demo of the site.

I have my assignments. I started but needed to get my children from the bus so I'll be working on it tomorrow morning after they go to school.

Yesterday

Sept 6 I took a step to change my life,

A little bit about myself.

I'm 44 and a mother of 2 school aged children. I resently completed a degree in paralegal studies.

A few weeks ago, there was a infomercial on TV. A known real estate guy. I've watched his show several times over the last several years.

Now I should back up a few years to the late 1980's, I attended a seminar at a local hotel by a very insperational speaker. I didn't have the money to buy his program. However, I watched several people on the payphone bank trying to raise money to purchase the program. It was out of my reach so I had lunch (got sick later) and never did anything about it.

Life went on and I was trading hours for money.

There were times in my life that I was working more hours than having time off from work. I worked two jobs off and on for years.

In my late 20's I found myself again thinking about buying property. Again I started to look at buying property and begin to look at another program and again, I just didn't have the money to purchase the program.

By my late 30's again looking at buying rental properties.

Than the crash.

I've read more books on buying properties than I can remember.

So back to the now. I called and ordered this book (normally I borrow from the library or by at a book store).

I started to read the book and found it better than some of the other and written more to this time than 10 or more years ago.

Than the call, they called me and I took the leap of faith.

My goals right now

GET OUT OF DEBT
start purchasing rental properties.
